They decided to attack by sea, and assembled an amphibious expedition for the purpose, which set out early in May 1942. They were, however, intercepted and heavily defeated by American air and naval forces in the Coral Sea, and what remained of the Japanese expedition returned to Rabaul.

Hi,

i am looking for my grandfather, Stanley O'Connor, he wasn't buried @ Bomana but his name appears on one of the pillars of the Stone of Remembrance. Do you have a list of those names?

Thanks!

Editors Note: Sorry only have the names listed as provided to us by the Australian War Graves in Canberra.  Perhaps you should write direct to them direct. Suggest you also log on to the following website:

I have a relative buried at Bomana War Cemetery: TUTT Victor Keith, Warrant Officer Class II.  Do you have a photo of his headstone?
