Update 3rd July

These trekkers left Port Moresby this morning. When I met up with them they were all looking forward to their trek and a couple asked if I would upload their photograph for family back home. This group includes: Darrell Lawlor; Alison Gillett; Jenny Menzies; Jessica Barjaktarovic; John Medland; Jo Guidice and her friend Bernadette Uren

Update 4th July

Just heard from the Clement Harika who tonight is at Ofi Creek along with his latest group of trekkers. According to Clement, the group are doing well with no problems. Tomorrow they face a tough climb up Maguli Range before walking through Naoro and down to Agulogo for the night. A couple of the trekkers have walked the Kokoda Trail before so no doubt memories of their previous trek with another operator is causing flashbacks for comparison. We hope and trust they enjoy their trekking experience with us at Kokoda Trekking as I know our boys will do their best to provide a great trek for them.

Update 7th July

Trek 1071 & Trek 1094: These two treks are now 20 minutes apart with two girls from trek 1071 up the front with Andrew and his team at Dump 1. The remaining trekkers from Trek 1071 are at the top of Mt Bellamy. Everyone continues to do well. Apparently the track is very busy with lots of school groups out there. Both groups are planning on being at Alola tomorrow night their last night on the trail.

Update 8th July

Trek 1071 & Trek 1094: When I heard from Harold Hauro on the sat phone this afternoon, he said with the exception of a couple of trekkers, they had all reached Alola their destination for today. All were ok and looking forward to walking off the track tomorrow. Picture them tomorrow when they walk from Alola to Isurava Memorial before heading off the track in Kokoda. Well done everyone, keep up the good work.

Update 9th July

Trek 1094: Congratulations are in order as this group walked off the track around 5pm this afternoon in Kokoda. At the present time they are walking around the museum area before making their way to Saga Village to spend the night. Tomorrow they will fly back to Port Moresby. Well done everyone from all of us here at Kokoda Trekking.

Big thank you also to our KTL boys for another successful walk and for looking after the trekkers.

Thank you also to Darrell Lawlor for the two bags of donations.  One of which left from Owers' Corner with another porter hired by Darrell.  The second bag was sent to Efogi with the half way food drop.  Am sure the villagers appreciated the donation.
