This group arrived in Port Moresby on the 24th April.  The following day they attended the Bomana War Cemetery Anzac Day Service and again spent the night in Port Moresby.  The following day they had an early start as they headed down to the airport to catch their flight to Popondetta.  On arrival they were met and driven to Orohaven Pija where they had a relaxing afternoon.  The following day, 27th April, they were driven up to Kokoda and commenced their trek around 8am.  Trekkers in this group include:
  • Erik Longstone

Their first night on the track was spent at Deniki.  This was followed by Alola and now tonight finds them at Dump 1.  Tomorrow they head for the half way point of Efogi.

This group arrived in Agulogo their destination point around 5pm today. Not far to go now as they head towards the finish line. Tomorrow they will have a tough day as they walk up to Nauro and take on Maguli Range which all trekkers say is hard. Earlier today they would have walked through Brigade Hill then on to Menari before heading further along the track to Agulogo.

I spoke to Erik earlier on tonight and he said they are all happy and well. He asked if they could come off the track one day ahead of schedule. So tomorrow they will be picked up at Owers' Corner around 2pm instead of the morning of the 4th. Tonight they are at Ioribaiwa Village. Earlier today they walked through the village of Nauro.

Congratulations to this group as they are now back in Port Moresby having walked off the track as planned this afternoon. After driving down from Sogeri they went into Bomana War Cemetery before heading into town where they will spend the night. Well done everyone from all of us here at Kokoda Trekking.
