    Hello all,

Firstly let me say what a wonderful website. Very informative.

I have completed 6 Kokoda Treks now and just love it.

I wanted to tell everyone that in August of this year 2005, I took my daughter Alyssa Azar across the track. She is 8 years old and from Australia.

She walked every step of the way herself and carried a Camel Back whilst I carried all of her supplies.

I have posted some photo's in the photo gallery section.

    Here's a link to a few others:

    Alyssa's Kokoda Trek

Have fun on your trek and remember that anyone can do this if they really want to, and if they prepare properly.

    Cheers,

Is this the girl from Toowoomba? I remember reading the article in the Chronicle but cannot recall her name.

Great job. My mates n I kept saying if an 8yr old can do it so can we.

    Hello Andrew,

Yes Alyssa and I are from Toowoomba.

Have you completed the trek already?

It is a great walk and she really enjoyed herself (although had some tough days).

It took us 9 days and 8 nights, which is pretty good for someone so small.

    Cheers,

    Hi Razor,

three of us from Cabarlah completed the trek a month after you and your daughter. We kept egging each other on, saying if an 8yr old girl can do it and a soldier can't..well can you live with yourself!! ha ha.

Awesome trip, we had our days too LOL.

    Cheers

    Andrew

How many days did you do it over?

I have completed 7 treks inthe past 2 years. I love it.

I will be there again ANZAC Day 2006.

I used to work as a Medic at cabarlah and Oakey.

    Small world.

    Cheers,

Must be something about Toowoomba as our youngest trekker is a 7 year old boy….

You guessed it, he comes from Toowoomba as well.

His name is Nicholas and he walked with his father and grandfather all three did really well.

From what I heard, Nicholas was in the camps ahead of his father and grandfather playing touch footy with our KTL boys!

Yes I saw Nicholas on Brigade Hill. He was doing an amazing job and seemed to be cruising along.

I think he was 7yo. What an amazing little bloke.

    Cheers,
