This group were picked up around 6:15 this morning.  Seems Joseph and Stephen were a bit slow off the mark as I think it was Stephen who mentioned he is not used to early starts.  On this trek, there is the following trekkers:
  • David Collins
  • Kerry Neall
  • Tammy Bennett
  • Stephen Johnson
  • Joseph Wehbe

The guide for this trek is Kingsley Boropi.  Chris Suma and Boga Suma are the food porters.

Have not heard from our guide today as yet, but according to our GPS, at 5:17pm they had almost reached Ua'Ule Creek.  Will update as soon as I hear from them.

This trek is presently split in two.  David is at Nauro with one of our staff as the plan was to stop there today.  Unfortunately the others in the group had two who were struggling so they had to stop at Ofi Creek to give them some rest.  Tomorrow they will all group together at Nauro.

This trek has now reached Menari Village. A couple of them struggled yesterday. Tammy had a tummy upset and Joseph asked for a porter. All good today and they nade up time. Another tough day ahead of them tomorrow as they walk up Brigade Hill. However, now with the extra personal porter and Tammy moving along ok, they will reach the half way point of Efogi tomorrow.

This group have powered along today. They are now at Naduri Village and all trekkers are ok. Tomorrow another big day as they head to Eora Creek for the night. According to Kingsley, Tammy is ok and doing well. Same with Joseph. As for David he must be doing exceptionally well as they have not said anything to the contrary since leaving Owers' Corner.

This group are now a hop, step and a jump away from the Kokoda archway as they are camped for the night at Hoi.  This afternoon they have had a swim in the creek and are now relaxing and looking forward to walking off the track in the morning.  They will commence their walk around 6:30am and should reach Kokoda approx 9-9:30am depending on their walking speed.  David and the two guys are out in front most of the day with the two women coming up the rear.  No doubt tomorrow the group will stop somewhere and all walk out together and under the archway which is the 'norm'.  Not far now trek 1084....picture them tomorrow as they head for the finish line!

Update from Kokoda. Trekkers walked through the archway around 9am this morning and at 10:26 another message saying they were in our hired 4WDrive vehicle and heading down to Orohaven Pija where they will have a relaxing afternoon before flying to Port Moresby tomorrow morning. Well done everyone, congratulations from all of us and a big thank you to our KTL boys for getting you all to Kokoda.
