A father and son combination left Owers' Corner on the 3rd August along with Emmanuel Eroro (Guide) and two brothers Lancelot and Mathias Geroia.  The first night found them at Ua'Ule Creek for the night.  The next night Nauro and tonight they are at Menari.  On this trek are:
  • Roger Bolte
  • Mitchell Bolte

This trek spent last night at the half way point of Efogi and today were heading to Dump 1 for the night. Apparently everyone continues to do well with no problems to report. Weather is good. Apparently Roger and Mitchell did a tour around the village of Efogi with Lancelot to check out the place. Tonight they will camp at the base of Mt Bellamy

This group have now reached Alola Village. They made really good time today and had reached Alola around midday so plenty of time to relax and plan for tomorrow when they intend to head to Kovelo Village for the night. Perhaps they are just excited to know they will soon have completed one of the hardest walks in the world

Congratulations are in order as this trek walked off the track earlier today walked under the archway in Kokoda. My apology for the lateness but have been racing around all day getting ready for another drive up to Brisbane international airport tomorrow morning. At the moment trekkers are relaxing at Orohaven Pija Retreat before returning to Port Moresby tomorrow morning. Their photographs will be posted later but have stolen two photographs from their guide Emmanuel Eroro's facebook page. From all of us here at Kokoda Trekking, well done! Maryanne went with them down to Pija and no doubt they have been eating some of the pizza's she had planned for their evening meal.

Last night was spent at Kovelo as planned so not too far for them to walk this morning to celebrate a successful crossing of the Kokoda Trail.
